Arborbrook Fishing Club Overview

Arborbrook Christian Academy will once again be organizing a Team Fishing Club for the 2017-2018 academic year in affiliation with Scholastic Anglers (SA). This club is open to student-anglers in grade levels six (6) through twelve (12), male and female, experienced and inexperienced.

Scholastic Anglers (SA) is a federal 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization formed to provide interscholastic sport fishing education and competition to the student-anglers in surrounding area schools. SA is the showcase of interscholastic sport fishing recognizing student-anglers who excel in the sport of fishing and in the classroom.  It is an exciting sport fishing program that turns the traditional sport of fishing into an interscholastic contest by serving multiple schools, student-anglers, teachers, and parents.

Scholastic Anglers is where schools form sport fishing teams, keeping students positively involved with a team concept at their school. Student-anglers compete both as an individual and as a school team member.  Points are earned for the SA Challenge through logged catching, photographing, and releasing of fish, SA Workshop Series attendance, SA Tournament Series participation, and school-specific team meeting/practice attendance. All fishing related accomplishments count...and every point is valuable!!!

Since there is no designated “season”, Scholastic Anglers and the Arborbrook Fishing Club will run throughout the academic year.  Now is a great time to join in as we offer student-anglers in our school an opportunity other than traditional sports and athletics.

Bass Monkey Academy

There is a new angling opportunity that will carry us into the summer months that your student may find of interest. Bass Monkey Academy is a youth driven instructional series for young anglers focused on learning and mastering the art and technique of bass fishing. At Bass Monkey Academy, young anglers between 8 and 17 years old are taught specific techniques and skill sets from dedicated instructors in a seminar style atmosphere.

Our instructors are hand picked for each technique. Not only will they teach and demonstrate each specific application, each youth angler will have the opportunity to learn and practice in a hands-on setting.

Academy membership is free to all youth anglers. However, if any Academy members choose to compete in our Bass Monkey Academy youth tournaments we will require each to purchase a tournament jersey at a reasonable price. There will be a $25 youth entry fee for Bass Monkey Academy youth tournaments. Just like the pros, they will compete for cash and prizes! Bass Monkey Academy will be attending the 2018 BassMasters Classic!
